Hi! We are Lenton Catering Bakery

We believe good food is not only about how it tastes but the ingredients that are used to make it.

Our little bakery started life as a tea room at an old mill in Grainthorpe, Lincolnshire in February 2016. Over the years it has changed to suit our needs not only for economic sustainability but to manage living with a long term auto immune condition. We closed our tea room in July 2021 and began offering delivery to your door and popping up at markets.

More exciting plans are coming in 2024 and we can’t wait to share them with you!

Fresh is Best!

Every single product we offer is made with the same care, detail and attention. Everything is baked using the best ingredients we can source while still being affordable. We don’t use preservatives and ensure that the bakes you purchase from us are made as close to consumption time as possible so that you get to enjoy them at their best.

We continue to rigorously test and update our recipes to meet the ever-evolving tastes and needs of all our customers, and we try to make sure we have your favourites too!

Chef Pete

Chef. Husband. Father. Kitchen Manager. Quality Control. Master of Sarcasm.

Pete began his journey in food when he trained as a chef at Henley College in Coventry, graduating in 1981 after spending 6 months on work placement in Oberammergau, Germany. He worked his way up to the position of Executive Head Chef with Forte Hotels before moving into industrial catering which offered more sociable hours. He has a wealth of knowledge in food preparation, stock management, menu planning, leading a team, and recipe development. In 2014 he made the decision to follow his dream of opening his own catering establishment with his wife Michelle.

Baker Shell

Baker. Wife. Step-Mother. Recipe Developer. Website Maintainer. Crazy Cake Lady.

Michelle is a self taught baker who didn’t learn how to bake properly until 2012! She has a great deal of hospitality, administrative and business management experience having worked in the airline industry, bars & hotels, and the IT industry. This gave her the right skill set to run her own business in partnership with her husband Peter. She really enjoys pairing new flavours together, recipe development & learning new patisserie techniques.
