CHEF PETE
Pete graduated from Henley College as a qualified chef. Starting out with a work experience placement in Oberammergau, Germany, during his career he worked his way up the ranks until reaching an Executive Head Chef position with Forte Hotels. A slightly quieter life beckoned and most recently he worked as second chef at a Dog Training & Conference Centre for HMPS in Cambridgeshire.
BAKER SHELL
Shell spent many years working through different hospitality and office positions, from reservations & ticketing with American Airlines in Sydney, to cleaning guest rooms on an island in the Great Barrier Reef, restaurant supervisor in a Forte Hotel in Cambridgeshire (guess where I met Chef Pete!), and most recently Office Manager for an IT & Virtual Comms company in Cambridgeshire.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
a Tea Room is Born…
After a sad loss in the family we gave some serious thought to how we wanted to live our lives. We left our respective jobs and our home in Cambridgeshire and moved ourselves to Lincolnshire in the Spring of 2014. We discovered an old semi derelict mill and coach house which we purchased and set about bringing back to life.
After 2 years of planning applications, quotations, and design meetings our tea room opened in the February of 2016. We had an amazing team who stayed with us during our roller coaster journey, until sadly due to ill health we had to close our beloved tea room in the July of 2021.
Never one’s to give up, we made the decision to reinvent our business with the flexibility of down time when needed. With a name change from Watts for Tea to Lenton Catering, we now concentrate on a monthly market stall, bakes to order, buffets, afternoon teas, and treat boxes for brunch, picnics etc.
We very much miss our chats with our tea room clients but we still get to be in our baking kitchen and make people happy through food, so what’s not to love!
